Independent Medicare broker · Former RN · Houston, TX. Here's why I do this — and how I work.
For 20+ years, I was a registered nurse. I spent two decades sitting bedside with people on the worst days of their lives — explaining diagnoses, walking families through what came next, advocating for patients who couldn't advocate for themselves. That's the muscle I bring to Medicare.
Three years ago I made the move into Medicare full-time, because I kept watching folks turning 65 get steered into the wrong plan by call centers that didn't know their meds, didn't know their doctors, didn't know their story. Medicare advice today falls into one of two buckets: a hard sales pitch from someone representing only one company, or a confusing mountain of jargon from medicare.gov. Neither helps the people who need help most.
I built this practice to be the third option: a knowledgeable, independent broker who explains things in plain English, recommends what's actually best for you (not what pays me the most), and stays your advocate after enrollment for as long as you need.
This is a family business. My husband Joe runs the life-insurance side — 15+ years there. Together our practice is licensed in 30+ states and has helped thousands of families. We're based in Houston, Texas — Texas is the heart of what I do, and most of my community is right here at home.
Primary license: Texas Department of Insurance. Texas is my home state and the heart of my practice.
Multi-state coverage: Also licensed in multiple states to serve clients who've moved or have family across state lines.
License numbers, NPN, and a full list of states are provided in your initial consult or on request.
Including Humana, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Mutual of Omaha, BCBS, Wellcare, and others (specific appointments vary by state).
Term life, IUL, annuities, long-term care insurance, employer group plans. If you ask about those, I'll tell you what I know but I'll refer you to someone who specializes in them.
